Local Governments and Schools
Here is my own list of local Communities and Schools. Each has links to the city hall, major school district, and other information.
The North Texas Council of Governments has a lot of information about the area and all of its cities and school districts .
Statistics for all schools in Texas for 2007 can be found at the Texas Education Agency's Division of Performance Reporting . You can search for test results and evaluations at the county, district, and individual school level.
Airports
The DFW Airport is an important part of our community. Here is its Yahoo! map .
The Alliance Airport and business area is becoming an important part of our community.
My Favorite Fort Worth Attractions
I love the Fort Worth Cultural District .
The Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth are two of the crown jewels of the Metroplex. They are across the street from each other. Nearby you'll find the Amon Carter Museum. Recently expanded, it houses a wonderful collection of American art.
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is worth a visit at any time of the year. The Japanese Garden is my favorite.
The Fort Worth Stockyards and the Fort Worth Zoo are both great places to visit.

The weather in the Southern Plains is usually either hot or violent. Here are some places you can find out which way it is today:

Internet Directories
The Dallas-Fort Worth Mall site features a comprehensive local directory.
As you would expect, Dallas.com has lots of pointers to local attractions. I especially like the restaurant reviews.
The All Links Directory is a good compilation of friendly internet links.
Pets
I'm an active member of the Metroport Humane Society. I own (or am owned by!) three pets: a dog, Tippy, and two cats, Exxon and James. All were rescued by the MHS. Exxon was found at a gas station, thus the name. Here are some pictures of them.
Food!
My husband and I love to cook. Two of our favorite food places are the Central Market and Eatzi's . They are the places to go for incredible ingredients, great pre-cooked meals, wide selections of bread, cheeses, wine and more.
